COMMENT: It is possible Samuel moved to Crow Creek in Jackson County,Alabama,
shortly after he sold the land in Warren County, TN. Jackson County,Alabama, became
a county December 1819. Prior to this it had been Indian Land withsquatters on it. Per
      Patty Woodall.

COMMENT: The Summers farm was on the Jackson Co., Alabama andFranklin Co.,
Tennessee state line. Therefore, many of the records such as census, are reported in TN
for some years and in AL for some years. Research in both areas isrequired even though
the family was living at or near the same location. Per Dave Rayburn

NOTES and COMMENTS by E.D. Rayburn:
Note 1: Samuel and Nancy (Middleton) Summers were apparently livingin same house-
Hold with another family who had small children. Probably family ofson or son-in-law
living in the house. There are two males age 20-30, one of whichappears to be married
to the age 20-30 female. The other 20-30 male is believed tobe Thomas Matthew
Summers who did not marry until 1845. Also, census taker showsSamuel's age as 70-80.
Records indicate that Samuel would have been 69 and possibly somemonths when the
      1840 census was taken.

Note 2: Listed, as living in the house next door to Samuel Summers wasMrs. Middleton
Age 20-30. This Middleton has been identified by Patty Woodall asMargaret Jane Taylor
Middleton, widow of Thomas Middleton son of Greenberry Middleton. Shehas 4 child-
ren listed; 2 males age 10-15 and 2 females age 10-15 and two femaleslaves 1 under 10
      And one 10-24.
