Mary Lou Hand, 99, of Phenix City, died Friday, June 4 in Smiths Station.
Mrs. Hand was born Jan. 5, 1905 in La Grange, Ga., the daughter of the late Carrie Elizabeth Teel Anderson and Stephen Loveless Anderson. She retired after 25 years as a spinner for Swift Textiles. She was a Baptist by faith and was preceded in death by her son, Denver Lee Hand. Survivors include daughters, Merylon Dunn of Smiths Station and Evelyn Burdeshaw of Phenix City; four grandchildren, Gary and Diane Burdeshaw Phenix City, Glenda and James Evans of Conyers, Ga., Marsha and Sonny Smith of Daphne, Ala., Donna and Mack Eastridge of Phenix City; nine great grandchildrean and 10 great great grandchildren. The family requests that no flowers be sent and those so desiring may make contributions to Columbus Hospice, 7020 Moon Road, Columbus, GA 31909. Graveside services were held Sunday, June 6 at Pine Grove Cemetery in Phenix City with her grandson, Gary Burdeshaw officiating and Colonial Funeral Home, Phenix City, directing.
